I have been an absentee poster and maker as of late. I’ve been spending most of my time with family right now. We’ve had a challenging winter, and all my focus has had to be with them.

It is hard to balance home and work sometimes, and this is one of those times. There are only so many hours in the day. I miss the studio, and get to sneak in now and then. I hope that the new spring light and greenery makes things better for all of us. I love the buds on the trees, and perennials peeking up through the April snow (yes, it’s snowing again), hinting at what is to come.

My two passions are my metalwork and my garden, and it’s frustrating to not be able to spend as much time as I can in either spot. When I don’t have an outlet for my creativity, my brain goes into overload and I end up lying in bed, very late at night, thinking about all the things…

I lucked into some studio time today and I have a casting class tonight. It involved some creative child care solutions, but it means I get to have some me time.

More to come…
